Job Overview: The Inclusion Associate (Dedicated Aide/Paraprofessional) is a member of the Student Services Team. They work in collaboration with lead classroom teachers to support students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). The student assigned to the Dedicated Aide/Inclusion Associate/Dedicated Aide/Paraprofessional remain the primary responsibility of the classroom teacher; the Aide is present to provide behavioral and/or academic support to his/her assigned students overall educational outcomes and to facilitate the assigned students long-term independence.
Reports To: The Inclusion Associate (Dedicated Aide/Paraprofessional) reports directly to the Director of Student Services.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Supports the creation of environments and instructional opportunities that meet the needs of the assigned student
- Provides behavioral and/or academic supports to assigned students
- Consistently implements behavioral and academic strategies outlined in the assigned students IEP
- Gathers and maintains academic and behavioral data; maintains anecdotal notes
- Keeps other members of the classroom teaching team, appropriate service providers, and families informed of progress and challenges regarding the student
- Collaborates with the teaching team to evaluate instructional effectiveness and to modify instructional approaches based on feedback

- Actively participates in professional development opportunities provided and seeks out additional professional development
- Maintains confidentiality and treats all information about children and their families in strictest confidence
Qualifications, Skills and Values
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or 48 college credits or passed the Paraprofessional PRAXIS Exam required.
- At least 1 year of direct work with children aged 3-12 years old required.
- Bilingual English and Spanish are strongly preferred.
- Experience in an urban school setting and familiarity with Responsive Classroom.

Other Job Details
- Schedule: 8 hour day
- Location: Network position meaning will serve students at either Cook Campus or Calle 8 Campus
- Position Type: This is a 10-month salaried position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act
- Employment subject to TB test, fingerprinting and background check
