The Associate Legal Assistant will provide essential administrative support to attorneys, assisting with a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the legal team. This role demands strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. The Associate Legal Assistant will work closely under the guidance of a manager to contribute to the administrative functions within the department.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle administrative duties, including but not limited to processing expenses, making travel arrangements, procurement of office supplies and managing accounts payable.
- Manage and maintain legal files, ensuring they are current, organized, and easily accessible.
- Assist multiple attorneys with non-complex projects.
- Carry out additional administrative duties as assigned.
- Provide backup support.
Client Relationship (Internal):
- Provide comprehensive support to internal stakeholders by assisting in the completion of non-complex projects, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Maintain effective communication to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality results.
Influence & Impact:
- This role involves a structured work environment with limited autonomy and discretion. Tasks and responsibilities are generally executed based on specific, detailed guidance provided by management or senior legal professionals. These instructions outline clear expectations regarding outcomes, processes, and timelines, ensuring that the work is completed efficiently and in accordance with established standards.
Accountability:
- Accountable for the completion of assigned daily tasks, projects and ensuring accuracy.
Judgment:
Exercises basic judgment with supervision.
Qualifications
Experience: Entry-level position, requiring up to 3 years of experience in an administrative setting.
Education, Credentials & Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
