Overview : The Director of Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA / QC) provides leadership and oversight of MCU’s QA / QC function, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role plays a critical part in minimizing operational risks, improving process efficiencies, and ensuring the cross-functional preservation of the highest standards of quality. The Director of QA / QC will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities :
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Lead and manage the QA / QC department, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s strategic goals and regulatory expectations.
- Build and mentor a high-performing QA / QC team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA / QC framework that supports the risk management strategy.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve ongoing monitoring and quality assurance processes for key operational areas such as lending, collections, deposit operations, retail operations, member contact center, member support operations, and others.
- Oversee the testing and review of operational procedures, controls, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Design and execute quality control programs that assess the effectiveness of internal controls, workflows, and systems.
- Manage the identification, documentation, and resolution of quality issues, working with department leaders to implement corrective actions.
- Provide regular reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors on QA / QC activities, review / monitoring findings, and areas of concern.
- Support risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance reviews across disciplines to ensure all operational activities are conducted in line with MCU policies.
- Conduct regular reviews of internal processes to ensure adherence to established standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor emerging trends, changes in regulations, and industry best practices to proactively adapt QA / QC programs.
- Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.
