Overview : The Sales Training Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering organization-wide training programs that enhance the sales skills, techniques, and knowledge of our sales team. This role requires strong communication skills, an understanding of sales processes, and the ability to motivate and engage a diverse group of sales professionals. It requires consulting with various business units to identify training needs and developing tailored solutions.

Responsibilities :

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Based on the input from business lines, design and implement comprehensive sales training programs to improve the performance and effectiveness of the sales teams.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions (in-person and virtual) on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, testing, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to identify skills gaps and training needs.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching and group training sessions to address specific sales challenges.
  • Stay current with industry trends, sales methodologies, and tools to continually improve training programs.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new sales employees, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.
  • Monitor the progress of trainees and provide ongoing support and encouragement.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience as a Sales Trainer, Sales Manager, or a similar sales-related role.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Ability to adapt training programs to suit the needs of diverse sales teams and individuals.
  • Proficiency with training tools, platforms, and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Experience using a customer relationship management tool and ability to train with that tool
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others to reach their full potential.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to execute – bringing training from development to completion.
  • Technologically proficient.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 3 years in a sales capacity in the banking industry.
  • Experience with sales technologies and CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Certifications in sales training (e.g., Sandler Training, Dale Carnegie, or similar programs) are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
