Accounts Payable Specialist
MES is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist that maintains accurate records of company obligations to vendors and suppliers. This full-time, in-house role will process invoices, verify the accuracy of payment information, reconcile discrepancies, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless payment processes. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, impressive organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers.
- Partner with internal and external customers to ensure timely and accurate entry of a large number of invoices.
- Verify invoice accuracy, including pricing, quantities, and terms to purchase orders using Netsuite.
- Code invoices to appropriate expense accounts and cost centers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records and documentation.
- Communicate with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.
- Collaborate with procurement and receiving departments to match purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices properly.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by providing necessary reports and information.
- Monitor accounts payable aging and take appropriate actions to address outstanding payments.
- Comply with internal controls and financial policies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline accounts payable workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Education
- Experience working with an ERP platform
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical ability
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Tech-savvy and computer-literate
- Data entry experience
