Embroiderer
Job Summary:
The Embroiderer is responsible for creating and applying embroidery designs on uniforms and other garments. This includes setting up embroidery machines, selecting the appropriate materials and threads, and ensuring that designs are accurately placed and meet quality standards. The role involves working closely with the production team to fulfill orders on time and to meet customer specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Embroidery Production:
- Operate embroidery machines to create custom designs on uniforms and other apparel.
- Select each job's appropriate thread colors, materials, and machine settings.
- Load and unload garments onto embroidery machines.
- Ensure that designs are accurately positioned on the garments and meet customer specifications.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Adjust the embroidery process as needed to ensure high-quality output.
- Address any issues with the embroidery process, such as thread breaks or machine malfunctions.
Order Management:
- Read and interpret work orders to determine design specifications, quantities, and deadlines.
- Organize and prioritize embroidery jobs to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Keep accurate records of completed work, including design specifications and quantities produced.
Inventory and Supplies Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of threads, needles, embroidery backing, and other supplies.
- Advise the appropriate person to reorder materials as needed to avoid production delays.
- Keep the work area organized and store all materials properly.
Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in embroidery, sewing, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with embroidery machines and software is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
- Basic understanding of textile types and how they respond to embroidery.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills for working with embroidery software.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying seasonal temperatures.
- Workshop/production environment with exposure to noise from embroidery machines.
- Standing for long periods, handling heavy or bulky garments, and performing repetitive, manual tasks
- Manual hand manipulation is required to place hoops for embroidery preparation
