Job Description Summary
Our Outside Sales Representatives are critical in driving revenue and expanding our customer base through selling first responder equipment to potential clients while maintaining relationships with existing customers. The ideal candidate for this role possesses sales expertise, relationship-building skills, and a thorough understanding of our products and services. To be successful in this role, one must be able to work independently and manage one's time effectively. The territory for this role includes the following IL counties: Shelby, Coles, Cumberland, Crawdord, Clark, Jasper, Effingham, Fayette, Bond, Madison, St. Clair, Monroe, Clinton, Washington, Marion, Jefferson, Clay, Richland, Lawrence, Wabash, Edwards Wayne, Hamilton, White, Gallatin, Saline, Hardin, Pope, Massac, Pulaski, Alexander, Union, Johnson, Williamson, Jackson, Franklin. The ideal candidate will reside in one of these counties.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify potential customers through various methods, including cold calling, networking, attending events, and leveraging online resources to create a list of leads.
- Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing the benefits and features of our products and/or services.
- Product Knowledge: Stay current on our product offerings, updates, and industry trends to communicate the value proposition to clients effectively.
- Negotiation: Negotiate customer terms and pricing to close mutually beneficial deals.
- Account Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers, ensuring their needs are met, addressing concerns, and cross-selling additional products or services.
- Sales Targets: Meet or exceed company sales targets and quotas, striving for consistent revenue growth.
- Market Research: Continuously research the market and competition to identify new business opportunities and offer strategies for market expansion.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress in NetSuite (a CRM system) and provide regular sales report cards to management.
- · Travel: Travel is required to meet with clients and conduct in-person presentations. Occasional travel may also be necessary to attend trade shows or training.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries and efficiently resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Education: A minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, but a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Sales Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills and the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for delivering persuasive presentations and building client relationships.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with sales software, CRM systems, and other relevant technical tools is required. Knowledge of NetSuite is especially valuable.
- Industry Knowledge: Priorknowledge of first responder/fire industry products, services, and market trends is strongly desired.
- Driving License: A valid driver's license is necessary for this role, as travel is a fundamental part of the job.
