Join our dynamic team at Municipal Pipe Tool Co., LLC as a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic, where your expertise will be essential in maintaining the seamless operation of our production equipment, robots and vehicles. In this role, you'll tackle a variety of tasks including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production periods and perform scheduled maintenance service.
- Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Prepare equipment for production teams.
- Utilize mechanical skills for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, welding, diesel, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of maintenance activities.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment, including electronics such as robotic cutters and CCTV sewer cameras.
- Adhere to OSHA safety and health regulations.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of experience as an automotive or truck mechanic, with diesel engine experience preferred.
- CDL A or B preferred, or the ability to obtain CDL Class A or B.
- Positive, self-motivated, and ambitious.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in troubleshooting and rebuilding rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, agitators).
- Significant mechanical aptitude and prior experience with heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, and welding (stick, MIG, oxy-acetylene, plasma) preferred.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, manuals, and service bulletins.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Flexibility to cover different positions/shifts and work overtime as needed.
- Computer skills including email, Excel, and Internet Explorer are a plus.
