This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources- Employment Services Division
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: City Hall, 632 W 6th Avenue
Example of Duties
Maintain the data integrity of the ERP system with current and retroactive detailed data entry ERP. Provide timely and accurate information in response to requests from the public, other departments, and employees. Edit ERP data entry for accuracy. Maintain employee personnel records with applicable documents (hire paperwork, termination, transfers, and promotions) and conduct research as requested/necessary. Communicate with departments regarding current and retroactive employee pay changes. Validate, complete, and disperse acting pay requests. Assign Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) building access and employee photo ID card. Assist employees with completing hire/rehire documentation and new employee orientation. Provide reports to Department Directors regarding probation and annual review dates, and seasonal and temporary employees and grade/ salary information. Provide Unions with active employee union reports, maintain, and audit pay enhancement tracking spreadsheets. Provide a large range of knowledgeable and courteous information to employees, departments and the public. Research various personnel records. Manage the Service Award letter program, including creating, printing, and working with the Mayor’s office for signature and distributing Service Award letters. Oversee auditing and updating the ID badge system. Validate accuracy of factored rates of pay and ensure the correct acting pay requests formula and calculations are in accordance with the appropriate CBA and Personnel Rules. Other related duties as assigned.
This position is a public facing front desk position that assists both employees and external customers in an open office setting while completing a wide variety of job duties. This position also provides in-person orientation presentations on a weekly basis.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and four (4) years of human resources experience.
OR
Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and two (2) years of human resources experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and human resources experience.
Previous HR Records Management experience
Strong customer service skills
Microsoft suite intermediate user skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.71 - $38.02 per hour
