What are the responsibilities and job description for the SENIOR OFFICE ASSOCIATE - Range 10 / AMEA position at Municipality of Anchorage?
This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) Union, and is subject to the current agreement between the AMEA and the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Office of Public Works
HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION: 4700 Elmore RoadUnder general supervision, participate as a member of the Office Support Team by checking for and suggesting proper formatting,
grammar, spelling and content of all documents presented to the Team for processing; creating and explaining to others the correct
use of templates, MS Word track changes and letters and mailing functions, MS Outlook calendar sharing and task functions, and
electronic and hard copy filing and archiving. Greet public, answer telephones and make referrals. Assist with data entry of bid
tabs, utility database, and weight tickets. Prepare and mail out distributions and Insulated Streets Updates. Prepare Assembly
documents and enter into OnBase system. Act for other office administrative staff when necessary.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in office clerical work.
OR
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Information Systems or similar discipline and experience in office clerical work. .
Ability to type at a net speed of 35 WPM.

Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach proof of current service to the application. Proof of current service can be shown by submission of a statement of service which, at a minimum, shows full name, date of birth, Social Security Number, date service began, branch of service, rank, name of command providing the information, and unit of assignment. The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual’s command organization and show the name, signature, title and contact information for the signer providing the statement of service. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration.
