The Munizzi Law Firm is an independent, full-service real estate law and title firm specializing in residential and commercial title insurance and real estate transactions. As our department continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Licensed Title Agent & Closer to join our team. This person will have at least 3 years in title insurance processing, closing, and/or marketing in the Central Florida area.
Responsibilities include:
- Must be a Florida Licensed Title Agent.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- 3 years in the title industry, with demonstrable experience in processing and closing.
- Must display a high level of professionalism in written, verbal, and non-verbal communications both on and off the clock.
- Competence and high comfort level working in a team environment, as well as being a "self-starter" capable of accomplishing goals without constant supervision.
- Thorough working knowledge of the title insurance industry standards and regulations.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze difficult problems and offer practical solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Must have a book of business and established clients that will transfer to the Firm upon joining.
Job Duties include:
- Receive documentation from multiple parties such as lenders, borrowers, and title examiners; organize, review, and process.
- Order title, payoffs, estoppels, lien searches, and any other items necessary to clear title.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all parties to the transaction.
- Prepare and balance Closing Disclosures/HUD Settlement Statements.
- Prepare Deeds and other necessary documents relative to the transaction.
- Obtain signatures for closing transactions, explain all documents and witness execution and notarize as applicable, and facilitate communication between parties to the transaction.
- Perform the necessary steps related to the escrow account for each file, including but not limited to entering, reviewing, and approving disbursement checks and wire transfers, reviewing the final disbursement summary and ledger upon completion of funding, and performing initial authorization for wire transfers.
- Review escrow accounting reports and resolve any outstanding checks or open file balance issues.
- Perform other escrow and closing-related duties as requested and required in order to clear title and close the file.
- Travel to and from a client in Seminole county for their closings on a semi-regular basis.
Required education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent
Required License: Licensed Title Agent
Required experience: Title agency or law firm practicing title, 3 years; must be able to demonstrate meaningful existing relationships and competencies.
Preferred, but not Required:
- Notary License (required for the position, but we will assist you in obtaining it once you start if you do not already have it)
- Spanish speaker
- Other real estate experience (real estate sales, lending, appraisal, management, etc.)
Schedule: Our Title team works Monday through Thursday, 9AM-5PM. Our offices close at 2:00 pm on Fridays, subject to the needs of the Firm. We have a flexible work-from-home (WFH) policy, as well as an unlimited PTO policy.
Compensation & Benefits: Compensation is competitive and will vary based upon experience and existing relationships. This is a salaried position WITH commission. You will be entitled to commission based upon origination, and possibly commission for maintenance of certain existing client relationships.
