Position Overview
A Facility Security Officer (FSO) with a "Secret" and "Top Secret" security clearance is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the security of classified information and facilities within Munro Defense, ensuring compliance with government regulations by managing personnel security clearances, conducting security training, monitoring access control, and investigating security incidents, while requiring the ability to access and handle highly sensitive information at both "Secret" and "Top Secret" levels.
Munro Defense is investigating the implementation of IL 5 / 6 security measures. Prior experience and knowledge of security control implementations for DoD-impacted controls (IL4, IL5, IL6 controls) is much desired.
Essential Responsibilities
- Security Clearance Management: Implement, process and, maintain employee security clearances at both "Secret" and "Top Secret" levels, including background investigations and periodic re-investigations.
- Facility Security Oversight: Implement and enforce security protocols within classified areas, including access control systems, visitor management, and document control procedures.
- Security Training: Develop and deliver security awareness training to personnel on proper handling of classified information, insider threat awareness, and compliance with government regulations.
- Incident Response: Investigate security breaches and violations, document findings, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct regular self-inspections and audits to ensure facility security practices align with government standards and NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual) guidelines.
- Classified Information Control: Manage the receipt, storage, dissemination, and destruction of classified materials, including tracking and accountability.
- Liaison with Government Agencies: Act as a primary point of contact with government security agencies to address security concerns and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities within the facility, develop mitigation strategies, and implement security improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain a current "Secret" security clearance with the ability to obtain a "Top Secret" clearance.
- Security Expertise: Strong understanding of government security regulations, including NISPOM, and experience in implementing security procedures in a classified environment.
- Investigative Skills: Ability to conduct thorough investigations into security incidents and breaches.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey security policies and procedures to diverse personnel.
- Leadership Abilities: Capability to lead and manage security teams, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
Relevant Experience:
- Prior experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) in a government contracting or defense industry setting.
- Background in security management, physical security, or related field.
- Experience with security clearance processing and management.
