Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Grading Foreman/Heavy Equipment Operator to support and lead our grading crew. This critical position ensures precise site preparation for asphalt paving projects, minimizing costly delays and material waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the grading crew to efficiently prepare sites for asphalt paving
- Operate and manage heavy equipment, including skid loaders, graders, and compactors
- Collaborate closely with the paving crew to ensure seamless transitions and minimize downtime
- Quickly identify and resolve grading issues to prevent paving delays
- Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and efficiency
- C coordinate material deliveries and subcontractors to maintain smooth workflow
- Drive company vehicles to and from job sites and oversee proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Communicate professionally with customers during all phases of the project
- Ensure that safety protocols are followed by all crew members
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in grading, paving, or related construction work preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide and collaborate with the crew
- Experience as a lead operator or strong potential to lead a crew is valued
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
