We are seeking a skilled dependable Grading Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator to support and lead our grading crew.
This critical position ensures precise site preparation for asphalt paving projects to minimize costly delays and material waste.
The right candidate will have strong technical skills leadership experience and the ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the grading crew to efficiently prepare sites for asphalt paving.
- Operate and manage heavy equipment including skid loaders graders and compactors.
- Collaborate closely with the paving crew to ensure seamless transitions and minimize downtime.
- Quickly identify and resolve grading issues to prevent paving delays.
- Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and efficiency.
- Coordinate material deliveries and subcontractors to maintain smooth workflow.
- Drive company vehicles to and from job sites and oversee proper maintenance of tools equipment and vehicles.
- Communicate professionally with customers during all phases of the project.
- E nsure that safety protocols are followed by all crew members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in grading paving or related construction work
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide and collaborate with the crew
- Experience as a lead operator or strong potential to lead a crew is valued
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Commitment to safety quality and teamwork
