Munson, located in Utica, NY, is looking for an enthusiastic Community Arts Assistant Intern (MCAA) to create memorable experiences during the summer kids' art class camps and special summer events on campus. This is a seasonal only position working at Munson and Pratt Munson College of Art and Design. The MCAA reports to the Community Arts Director.
Job Summary
Internship:
Full-Time, 10 Weeks
Start Date: Monday, June 2, 2025
End Date: Friday, August 8, 2025
Hours
M- F, 8AM to 4PM with a 1-hour Lunch during the 4-weeks of classes.
M-F, 9AM to 5PM with a 1-hour Lunch during the weeks before and after classes.
Program Semester
WEEK 1: JULY 7–11
WEEK 2: JULY 14–18
WEEK 3: JULY 21–25
WEEK 4: JULY 28–AUG. 1

Munson , located in Utica, NY, is a nationally prominent fine arts center serving diverse audiences through a renowned Museum of Art, the Pratt Munson College of Art and Design , a live performing arts season, and year-round community arts classes. Job Summary
- Assist the director in scheduling classes and coordinating instructors’ schedules and assist with outreach to instructors in advance of summer class sessions. Assist in pre-semester planning, outreach, and setting up mail-merge reminders regarding free classes to registered students and families.
- Assists daily in training, scheduling 6 - 8 high school-aged interns, coordinating activities for students dropped off early and/or picked-up late, setting up for special events, maintaining classrooms between sessions, managing snack levels, checking in with instructors while class is in session, helping families and students navigate campus, and answering questions.
- Create a welcoming environment for students and families and ensure an inclusive and rewarding experience for high-school interns.
- Execute digital evaluations at the end of each week and compile feedback for the Director.
- Additional duties may include documenting classes and artwork, communicating any registration issues, parent questions, or other issues to the reception desk or the Director, assisting in studios if needed, and general involvement in special summer events and programs like the Arts Festival.
- An interest or experience in the visual arts, education, childcare or camp experience is preferred but not required.
- Must have a working knowledge of Google Workspace applications such as Docs, Forms, and Sheets.
- Must be organized and extremely reliable.
- Outgoing and adept at both verbal and email communication with the public.
- Proactive and project oriented.
