The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions of our office, ensuring accurate billing and collections. This position requires a strong understanding of the dental billing processes, coding systems, and terminology. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with patients to resolve billing inquiries and maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing and payment posting.
- Review and verify patient accounts for accuracy, ensuring compliance with dental billing regulations.
- Ensure accurate coding of dental procedures and services.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims efficiently.
- Post payments received from patients and insurance companies.
- Apply payments to patient accounts accurately.
- Track outstanding balances and identify overdue accounts.
- Follow up with patients and insurance companies regarding outstanding payments.
- Follow up on denied or pending claims.
- Appeal denied claims when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing and payment options.
- Address patient inquiries and resolve billing issues.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with patients and staff.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements.
- Monitor key financial metrics related to accounts receivable.
- May assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dental billing or accounts receivable within a dental setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and coding is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
- Proficient in using dental billing software, electronic claims submissions and Microsoft Office Suite.
