for a full-time parks maintenance position
Position Opening: Maintainer II (reports to Superintendent of Park Operations)
Salary Range: Starting at $17.46/hour plus benefits up to $21.83/hour depending on qualifications

The purpose of this position is to maintain parks grounds, facilities, and equipment. The work is performed under the direction of the Superintendent of Park Operations. The position is based on a 40-hour work week and may require evenings and weekends based upon Town and department need.
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs landscaping and parks maintenance functions; mows grass; picks up trash, cuts and trims trees and brush; trims weeds; landscapes parks, parkways, and other park improvements.
- Able to operate an aerial bucket truck, light roller, power sweeper, dump truck, salt spreader, garbage truck, snowplow, tractor, vac-all and other light construction and maintenance equipment.
- Maintains and cleans parks facilities; maintains and cleans Social Center; buffs and maintains floors; cleans and maintains park restrooms; maintains supplies.
- Maintains and prepares playing fields.
- Performs snow and ice control and removal functions seasonally; snowplows park roads and lots; shovels sidewalks, etc.
- Performs set up and clean up for special events. Assists at selected events with maintenance related tasks.
- Performs pool maintenance.
- Repairs park water mains, fencing, irrigation, signage, and other park amenities.
- Uses miscellaneous hand and power tools.
- Performs other related functions as assigned or required.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
High school diploma or equivalent with six months of related maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Past park maintenance or landscaping experience is a plus. Position requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License or ability to secure within 90 days of hire.
