Program Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Train, supervise and manage Program Leaders and Developmental Technicians for homes identified, and provide appropriate active treatment services for individuals served.
2. Lead and develop a team of staff with values and advocacy for individuals served.
3. Possess knowledge of and implement Mur-Ci Homes Policies and Procedures, state and federal ICF/ID Regulations and Licensing Regulations.
4. Ensure the opportunity for each individual served to be safe, happy, healthy, and pursue their individual wants and needs.
5. Participate in the development of programs that promote independence, choice and empower individuals to reach their fullest potential.
6. Participate in annual Habilitations Plans with the Interdisciplinary Team and carrying out active treatment services within ICF/ID guidelines. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and addendums.
7. Oversee the delivery of all plans (Habilitation, Behavioral, Active treatment, etc.) and programs/services across all areas of training and services (school, work, etc.) to ensure each individual is appropriately served in all areas.
8. Monitor documentation of active treatment services by staff including shift progress notes, daily data, weekly progress notes. All with the oversight of Program Leaders seeing these items completed.
9. Ensure shift responsibilities for all homes and all shifts are being completed by PL. Monitor that all services are completed and follow up as necessary.
10. Assign staff accordingly to carry out all doctor appointments both scheduled and not scheduled. Participate when needed to facilitate active treatment services coverage requirements.
11. Conduct routine formal observations to ensure active treatment services are provided.
12. Represent as a leader assist in building a qualified team of staff to effectively serve individuals.
13. Advocate for and monitor health and wellness of persons served in coordination with the nursing department.
14. Supervise safety, sanitation and infection control of the homes, individuals and staff.
15. Oversee and direct staff and schedules to ensure appropriate staffing ratios are in place to carry out services including day programs, appointments and other services.
16. Maintain a positive working relationship with families, visitors and community agencies of individuals served.
17. Communicate with QIDP and Habilitation Directors any concerns or assistance needed in meeting the needs for the individuals served.
18. Ensure house supplies are purchased timely. Monitor status equipment for its operation and implementation.
19. Communicate at minimum to conservators/family of scheduled and non-scheduled doctor appointments, general status of individuals served, and any illness or medical concerns in the absence of the QIDP or during on-call time.
20. Work a varied schedule to ensure the active treatment needs are met- including monitoring programs and working with staff to effectively carry out active treatment needs.
21. Schedule activities for individuals served using recreation calendars and also in accordance to their IHPs and special services objectives identified. Complete recreation calendars for homes for holidays, school closings as required. Complete two weeks prior to the effective date.
22. Create the staffing schedule for identified homes. Manage staff vacancies, absences and coverage for all shifts. Notify staff as soon as possible of any changes in schedule including mandatory assignments.
23. Utilize shift Program Leaders to manage coverage and assure appropriate ratios are in place.
24. Work with QIDP to identify personal needs for the individual served and assure those items are acquired timely.
Qualifications: Experience with active treatment necessary. At least one year experience in the field of intellectual disabilities is preferred. A valid Tennessee driver’s license is required. Supervisory experience is preferred.
