What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Engineer position at Mura?
Mura is an early stage, venture-backed startup helping commercial HVAC providers accelerate and automate their order-to-cash cycle. Providers currently manage orders and invoices across emails, phone calls, and third-party portals. This is operationally intensive and lots of information gets inserted incorrectly, which leads to nightmares when billing. Mura leverages LLMs to increase efficiency and accuracy in the order to cash process.
Mura has launched 3 customers since mid October, and they are seeing huge efficiency gains and an increase in QA scores. We have 4 more design partners lined up to launch in the coming weeks and months.
Mura’s co-founders previously started LeafLink, a b2b cannabis marketplace that was backed by investors including Founders Fund, Lerer Hippeau, and Thrive Capital. LeafLink now moves over half of the wholesale cannabis orders in the U.S. ($20B ). The team at Mura deeply understands b2b orders, and is excited to dive into a similar problem in commercial HVAC.
Role Description
As one of the first engineers at Mura, you will play a key role in building the product that our customers are interacting with day-to-day, and the platform on which we will grow moving forward.
This is not just a coding role. You will be expected to deeply understand the customer’s needs and make product decisions. You will need to architect systems with an eye to efficient scaling, help with customer launches, analyze data, and generally perform what tasks are necessary for Mura to consistently deliver more value to customers.
You will also be writing a lot of code. As a result of being an early stage startup, we wouldn’t want to hide this reality to prospective candidates: raw hours actually make a big difference in the impact we can make right now. This won’t always be the case but it is at present. So, often we find ourselves working later in the evening, and sometimes during the weekend.
