Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Help with mobility and transfers, including lifting clients safely when necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure as needed.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when required.
- Support clients in performing light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding changes in client conditions or needs.
- Document care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
- Provide assistance with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed care plans.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care, home care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of vital signs is advantageous.
- Experience in dementia care is a plus, demonstrating an ability to engage effectively with clients experiencing cognitive challenges.
- Ability to lift and assist clients safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Strong communication skills and a caring demeanor are essential for building trust with clients.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or similar qualification is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
