POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
FLSA / SALARY BAND: Hourly – Tech Wage Scale

Position Summary
A Maintenance Technician performs maintenance activities throughout the industrial facilities including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, preventive maintenance, and additional repair as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Follow all safety rules and ISO requirements
· Assure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards
· Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/IATF 16949 (includes ISO 9001) standards, and company policies and procedures
· Supports, assist, and adheres to ISO/IATF Quality System, ISO 14001 Environmental System and OSHA 18001
· Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
· Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance team members to diagnose problem or repair the machines
· Troubleshoot machine equipment, processes and be able to repair, improve and discuss countermeasures with management
· Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
· Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
· Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
· Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
· Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
· Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
· Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
· Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
· Fabricates and repairs metal, plastic or machine components and features
· Ability to work priority; 1st Do It Now (DIN) Downtime work orders, 2nd Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders, 3rd Corrective work orders, with Paint with 1st precedence, Assembly, then Injection
· Ability to navigate, input comments and complete tasks in Maintenance software, Direct Line
· Completes other assignments as assign by Management

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
· High School Diploma/GED Required
· 2-year technical degree in related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Automotive background preferred
· Emphasis in Electrical preferred
· Must be able to follow direction, standardized work, and work instructions
· Experience in MS word, Excel, and Power Point software programs.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
· Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
· Ability to work in and promote a team-based environment
· Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects
· Must have good work ethic and be dependable
· Must be able to work in a team or individualized
· Daily attendance is an essential function of the position
· Effective time management and ability to complete task in a time efficient manner· · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include binocular, close vision distance vision, and color vision. Must be able to work in warm temperature environment daily for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
