Mural Arts Philadelphia seeks a part-time Digital Content Creator to join its Communications department and play a crucial role in advancing Mural Arts’ mission by producing compelling ad engaging content for use on social media that promotes the organization's public programs and events. They would be instrumental in enhancing the visibility of Mural Arts, show casing its work and initiatives to a broad audience through digital platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Reporting directly to the Social Media and Marketing Manager and working closely with other members of the Communications department, the Digital Content Creator will help to widen the organization's reach and generate fresh ideas and innovative approaches to effectively tell the stories of Mural Arts and the artists and communities with whom Mural Arts collaborates.
The Digital Content Creator builds and nurtures the organization's reputation and relationships with its audiences and partners by ensuring consistent, high-quality content.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work with the Social Media and Marketing Manager to ensure the exciting and well-timed promotion of virtual and in-person public programs and events.
- Create original content, including videos (Reels TikTokstyle), copy, and other duties as assigned.
- Assist in editing, filming, or production of content as needed.
- Schedule out content as needed.
- Understand the brand personality and voice of the organization and translate that onto our social media platforms.
- Outreach to and collaborate with social media influencers.
- Must be available to attend and capture social content for public programs and events, including in the evenings and during the weekend, as needed.
- Be a strategic and creative thought partner and advisor to the Social Media and Marketing Manager.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and listening.
- Strongunderstandingofsocialmediaplatforms,particularlyTikTokandInstagram.
- Experience with content creation is preferred.
- Understandingofstorytellingwithregardtomarketingandcommunications.
- Abilitytoworkinafast‐pacedenvironment,bedetail-oriented,andmanagemultiple tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and display superb time management skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, constituents, and external partners.
- Must be able to attend evening and weekend events when required.
Education & Experience
- Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or equivalent experience and knowledge.
- Basic video editing skills are required.
- Experience using Sprout Social (or similar social media tools) is a plus.
- Excellent project and time management skills are required.
- Experience working with social media influencers is a plus.
- A good team player with a positive attitude and the ability to think creatively and out of the box.
This job description is a summary of the duties of the above position. Other related duties may be required by the supervisor.
This is a part-time position with a max of 20 hours a week.
