Mural is currently seeking a talented and motivated intern for a position in the Protein Therapeutics team within the Research group and working onsite in Waltham, MA. The successful candidate will participate in advancing the Mural pipeline and capabilities in biologics, while actively contributing to the development of novel biological molecules.
Job Responsibilities
The summer intern’s responsibilities will focus on the following:
- High-throughput protein expression, purification, and characterization
- Large scale protein expression and production
- Mammalian cell culture
- Experimental design, analysis, and interpretation of data
- Inventory reconciliation and sample management
- Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program and majoring in a relevant scientific discipline (biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, and biology)
- Availability to work full-time for approximately 11 weeks between June and August (exact dates TBD)
- General laboratory techniques (pipetting, buffer preparation)
- Sterile technique and experience with protein purification and characterization techniques a plus (SDS-PAGE, chromatography, AKTA, FPLC, HPLC).
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot experimental problems, seeking advice or consulting literature if necessary.
- Committed to maintaining high standards in quality of science.
- Ability to rapidly learn and apply techniques.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize according to project timelines with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to document work in required formats and present data in formal and informal settings.
