As we prepare for commercialization of this therapy, we are looking for an experienced and results-driven leader to join our commercial leadership team as the Vice President, Market Access.
Position Overview :
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial, the Vice President, Market Access will lead the development and execution of Mural's market access strategy, ensuring the successful launch and ongoing commercialization of nemvaleukin alfa. This role will oversee all market access functions, including payer and distributor engagement, patient access and reimbursement services, pricing and contracting, and market access strategy. As a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, the VP will work closely with cross-functional teams to shape and execute market access strategies that drive patient access and business growth.
Key Responsibilities :
o Develop and implement a comprehensive market access strategy, including pricing, reimbursement and payer engagement, to support the launch and lifecycle management nemvaleukin alfa
o Establish and scale Mural's market access function by recruiting top industry talent to build a high-performing team.
Strategic Leadership : Serve as a core member of the Commercial Leadership Team, co-leading the development of Mural's overall Commercial strategy, talent development, and operational capabilities.Market Access Strategy : Develop, lead and implement all aspects of market access strategy, including pricing, contracting, payer strategy, distributor relationships, patient access services, and field-based account management.Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of market access professionals, ensuring alignment with Mural's strategic objectives and culture.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with key commercial functions, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Analytics, to ensure seamless integration of market access priorities into business planning and execution.Data Strategy & Analytics : Work closely with Commercial Analytics and Sales Operations to manage data flows, track performance metrics, identify trends, and leverage insights to optimize market access efforts.Value Proposition & Messaging : Collaborate with Marketing, HEOR, and Medical Affairs to develop compelling product value propositions, evidence generation plans, messaging, and economic models that support market access strategies.Field-based Account Management : Support the field-based account management team in driving value with payers, specialty pharmacies, distributors, GPOs, and state governments to ensure access and reimbursement for nemvaleukin alfa.Policy & Market Trends : Provide strategic guidance to the Leadership Team on emerging market trends, policy changes, and the implications for Mural's business and patient access.Collaboration with Non-Commercial Teams : Ensure strong collaboration with internal partners, including Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and Finance, to align on market access strategies and ensure compliance with regulations.Pipeline Planning : Contribute market access expertise to pipeline planning for early-stage development programs, ensuring the development of market access strategies that support future product launches.Qualifications :
BS / BA in business, life sciences, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH) preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5-7 years in senior leadership roles within market access.Strong oncology and biologics experience is highly preferred; launch experience in oncology is required, with a focus on ovarian and / or melanoma experience being a plus.Proven track record in leading both internal and remote / field-based teams to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions and stand by them while fostering a collaborative and compliant culture.Significant expertise in market access, pricing, contracting, payer strategy, and patient access, with the ability to effectively influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Ability to earn the trust and confidence of senior leadership, team members, and external partners.Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with field teams, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors.Why Mural?
