We are seeking a meticulous and organized Payroll Assistant to join our team. As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. This position is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent organizational skills, and is looking to grow their career in payroll and human resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
Verify timekeeping records and consult with employees about any discrepancies.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
Process and administer all garnishments and payroll deductions.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Assist with the preparation of payroll reports and summaries.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
Support the HR department with various administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
1-2 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
