We are seeking a meticulous and organized Payroll Assistant to join our team. As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. This position is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, has excellent organizational skills, and is looking to grow their career in payroll and human resources.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees.Verify timekeeping records and consult with employees about any discrepancies.Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.Process and administer all garnishments and payroll deductions.Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies as needed.Assist with the preparation of payroll reports and summaries.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.Support the HR department with various administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.1-2 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) is a plus.Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
