Primary Responsibilities: The Logging Clerk reports to the Logging Supervisor and VP of Resources and is responsible for the timely reporting of timekeeping, log deliveries and expenses. The Logging Clerk will serve as main contact for payroll assistance (reporting of hours through Kronos, distribution of payroll checks/stubs, obtaining new employee packets). The Logging Clerk will also prepare cut-off detail for accruals and month end and deliver this information to the Operations Controller, as well as provide assistance in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Timber sale and equipment general ledger coding and cost reporting
- Reconciling load tickets and verification of scaled loads
- Monthly cost and profit/loss reporting for equipment and logged timber sales
- Process AP as needed
- Review and editing of Kronos time-keeping reporting for payroll
- Invoicing of by-products
- Production reporting (statistic reports, chip reports, etc.)
- Photocopy AP log and other info to forward to Eugene for payment
- Maintain employee personnel records
- Provide general office support for logging supervisor as needed
- Prepare and reconcile physical inventory monthly for veneer and log decks
- Year end audit support
- Detailed analysis of internal costs comparisons to external purchases
Qualifications
- 3-5 years minimum experience in plant controller or similar role
- Good working knowledge and proficiency in Excel
- Fluid in the use and operation of computer accounting systems
- Bachelor degree or equivalent industry experience
