We Are Looking For Someone Like You
As a Preconstruction Engineer, you will be a vital member of Murphy’s Design Build/Preconstruction team. You are responsible for the development of preliminary budgets for our clients, procurement of negotiated projects and the successful development and completion of the preconstruction phase on the negotiated projects. Will also need to visualize complete mechanical systems and produce complete, qualified budget estimates based on conceptual drawings and narratives.
Your Day-to-Day at Murphy Company
- Develop customer solutions

- Conceptualize estimating and design and/or design assist of mechanical systems
- Ensuring effective transition to Estimating and Operations
- Generating customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge
- Contributing to team effort

- Knowledge of:
- Design and cost of HVAC and Plumbing Systems
- Energy Management Systems and Building Automation Systems
- Commissioning Process
- Value Engineering Techniques
- Construction industry laws, regulations, policies, and practices
- Project Development department function and objectives
- Professional communication and selling techniques
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Advanced in Microsoft applications and estimating software
