Part-time RN or LPN
Shifts include: 5PM-9PM daily or Weekends 9AM-9PM
The Part Time Nurse is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned area in terms of individualized client needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the Charge Nurse. The incumbent will work independently as well as a part of a team. This position is responsible for ensuring that all medications have been administered and documented correctly in the Medication Administration Record (MAR). The Part-Time Nurse is responsible for completing nursing assessments on consumers as needed or scheduled.
Essential Functions
Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventative, therapeutic, rehabilitative and nursing care of assigned consumer as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.
Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards as observed by the registered nurse.
Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes
Maintains and coordinate communication among consumer, staff and physician as evidenced within medical chart and/or Electronic Medical Record and Director of Nursing Standards feedback.
Assists in assuring that effective communication exists with consumer as reflected in the treatment plan. Give punctual communication report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients.
Works collaboratively with other members of the treatment team of the consumer's care as evidenced by other department feedback.
Assists consumers, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
Answers and refers telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
Qualifications
Technical or Associate Level Degree with five (5) years' experience in the field.
Possess a verifiable LPN or RN License
Verifiable experience with administration of medications
