Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for an Assistant Production Manager – Road Ready Center. The role of the Assistant Production Manager – Road Ready Manager works with the Production Manager to manage the day-to-day operation of the Road Ready Center’s Service Department to ensure that customer requirements are met. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities within the department to meet customer specifications and production schedules. Ensures that installations are performed in a quality manner.
- Assists in planning and organizing the production schedule for truck pre-delivery inspections and component installations based on Kenworth factory production schedules.
- Works with the Customer Production Specialist to define the component installation requirements. Determines the materials and amount of labor required to complete the installation. Provides a cost estimate to the Production Manager for approval.
- Communicates the production schedules and customer requirements to the Installation Supervisors and Installations Specialists. Ensures that the proper tooling and equipment is available to complete the installations as required by customer.
- Works with the Parts Department to make sure that components and supplies have been ordered and staged to meet the production schedule.
- Monitors and oversees the production processes to meet customer installation requirements and delivery deadlines. Keeps the Production Coordinator informed as to the status of trucks as they flow through the production/installation process.
- Ensures that installations are performed in a quality manner and meet customer requirements.
- Develops and trains department staff and reviews and appraises their performance. Ensures the department is adequately and competently staffed.
- Promotes safe work habits and ensures that safety rules are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Requires previous management experience in either a manufacturing or truck maintenance environment.
- Must have excellent leadership and communication skills.
