Job Summary
The EFS Training Analyst - USON Operations is responsible for supporting the planning, development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of the EFS Training and Competency Program, with a focus on Onshore field training. This role collaborates closely with the program lead and stakeholders to develop and maintain subject matter expertise in US Onshore Operational Field roles, ensuring the continuous enhancement of skills and competencies among Murphy's field personnel.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training and development, project management, and change management, coupled with a mentoring mindset and a commitment to team-oriented collaboration. Exceptional relationship-building skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential. Prior experience or knowledge of onshore field operations is preferred. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, proactive professional with the ability to work independently and drive meaningful results . They will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and risks, as well as developing and implementing corrective initiatives in coordination with the Program Lead, HSE, Engineering, Asset Integrity teams, and external vendors. The analyst will ensure effective communication and follow-through on incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the development of mitigation strategies. Additionally, this role serves as the primary field liaison for new employees, ensuring the successful implementation of the EFS Onshore Operations Onboarding and Short Service Employee Program.
The EFS Training Analyst- US Onshore Operations reports directly to the EFS Training and Competency Program Supervisor to provide high level guidance for needs and prioritization of budgeting and needs to implement sustainable training and competency programs.
The EFS Training Analyst can be based either in the Eagle Ford Shale region, or in the Houston office, working on-site Monday through Friday. If the analyst is based in the Eagle Ford Shale region , they will be rotating among field locations in Tilden, Karnes, and Catarina and travel to the Houston office for key meetings , with a travel requirement of 15 - 20%. If the analyst is based in our Houston office , there will be a 50% travel requirement to Murphy's Eagle Ford Shale field locations.
Responsibilities
- Assesses general and specific training needs within the focus populations using generally accepted methods appropriate to the training field, in alignment with competency requirements
- Manage logistics of on-site and off-site training for field personnel
- Ensure effective controls are in place to promote adherence and accountability to Global Standards, Job-Specific Tasks, and Standard Operating Procedures, with program team
- Supports Murphy's Mission, Vision, and Values by ensuring all are treated fairly and supported equally in developing employees' interpersonal and technical skill sets
- Support US Onshore Operations for individual staff needs for development in the minimum of these areas : Internal Global Standards and Business Unit Programs, External Training needs, assessment, and selection, Field personnel training needs, and Cross-functional needs and communications
- Engages directly with the Program Supervisor, as well as EFS Office and Field Leadership roles, HSE and Engineering stakeholders, to comprehensively grasp business requirements. Cultivates relationships within various business functions to craft relevant materials.
- Assessment of external training programs, vendor management and coordinating employee requirements based on Roles and Responsibilities.
- Support Field Leadership in ways to monitor, assess, and audit employee development in their teams.

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous / extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
