What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN Unit Coordinator position at Murphy Rehabilitation & Nursing?
- Provide for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents
- Observe, record, report, treat symptoms and reaction of residents
- Follow rehabilitation plan
- Monitor compliance with implemented resident assessment and comprehensive plan of care regularly.
- Interpret facility's policies and programs to staff
- Assist Director of Nursing as needed
- Evaluate, plan and organize nursing care according to established facility policies and procedures.
- Follow the Standard work form and collaborate with teams on the assigned unit.
- Consult and participate with director of nursing on admissions, room assignments and discharge plans of residents
- Assure physician's orders are implemented
- supervise nursing activities and promote improvement in nursing care
- Monitor completion of laboratory testing as ordered by physician.
- Monitor responsible party notification of changes in conditions, changes in treatment regimen, diagnostic testing results, etc.
- Evaluate and make recommendations for improvements for welfare of residents.
- Ensure supplies are available in proper quantities, equipment is available and in proper condition and personnel using such supplies and equipment know location and proper care of equipment
- Give daily report on conditions in nursing service to director of nursing
- responsible for monitoring accurate recording of medications and narcotics according to established facility policy and procedure.
- Participate in nursing care as needed; responsible for direct handling of emergency situations.
- Assist with plans of care.
- Assist residents and/or families with issues involving nursing care or services.
Qualifications:
- Required-Credentialed in NC with unencumbered NC License/Certification
- Preferred- Two years experience in a Long Term Care environment
- Direct experience with Electronic Medical Record software - PCC a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and all levels of the organization
- ability to organize and prioritize
- Ability to be accurate, concise and detail oriented
- ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team member
- Working knowledge of Computers, Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office
- Valid NC drivers license and reliable transportation
Compensation will determine upon years of experience.
