What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at Murphy's?
Murphy's is looking for a Sous Chef. The position will work directly with Executive Chef Matt McCarthy to manage a team and menu of in house produced items. The sous chef roll will be responsible for ordering, expediting, production management, and creating nightly specials along with the Chef.
A Sous Chef candidate should have a strong passion for cooking, managing, and collaboration. They should be a great team player and able to lead a team in busy and high stress environments. They should have an understanding of basic culinary techniques and product knowledge. The right candidate should have a passion for highlighting seasonal and local ingredients.
This position will be a minimum of 45-50 hours per week. Full availability on weekends and nights are required.
Servsafe certification, or willing to complete the certification is required.
