POSITION SUMMARY: This is a professional administrative position responsible for the program-wide delivery of education services to Early Head Start and Head Start children in collaboration with school district and Delegate agency partners. The Early Care & Education (ECE) Services Program Administrator oversees the compliance of classrooms with federal and state regulations. This position leads the Education Services Team, collaborates with management staff, and directly supervises the ECE Mentor Coach Specialists and assigned district personnel. The ECE Services Program Administrator provides training to teaching personnel, develops curricula and provides educational resources for staff and parents. In addition, this position serves as a liaison between Murray Head Start, local school districts, and community agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE), Child Development, Early Childhood, or a qualified related field, and experience working with children ages birth to five. IECE teacher certification is preferred. Necessary skills include an in-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations, knowledge of early childhood curricula and assessment tools, an understanding of early childhood certification and credentialing, and familiarity with community agencies supporting young children and families. Administrative ability, experience in personnel management, and strong organizational skills are preferred. Reliability certification on the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) instrument is preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and supports the implementation Head Start Program Performance Standards, agency policies and procedures, and program goals and objectives.
- Directly supervises assigned education and management staff.
- Serves as a resource to partner and community agencies regarding services for children ages birth to five.
- Provides training and resources regarding early childhood education and school readiness.
- Monitors and evaluates the progress toward program goals and objectives.
- Updates program plans, policies and procedures, and agency documents annually to reflect current needs and operations.
- Participates in administrative team initiatives, decision-making, and long-range planning.
