Qualifications:
Candidate will meet one of the following criteria:
- Hold a valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate or;
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Kentucky Substitute Certificate or;
- Have completed a minimum of 64 semester hours of college credit and a valid Kentucky Emergency Substitute Certificate or;
- Be 21 years of age or older and hold a valid Kentucky Emergency Substitute Certificate.

General Duties and Performance Responsibilities:
- Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
- Present a positive image of the school to community, and convey to them the school’s genuine concern with the education, growth and development of each student.
- Work to develop a positive public relationship between the school district and the community.
- Carry out assignments in a timely manner without undue checking.

Specific Duties and Performance Responsibilities:
- Report to the building principal or designee (school secretary) upon arrival at the school building.
- Review with the principal or department head all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintain, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which you are assigned.
- Teach the lesson outlined and described in the Substitute Teacher's Folder as prepared by the regular teacher.
- Consult with the building principal or assistant principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher's Folder.
- Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in the classroom, or on campus during lunch and recess periods.
- Report in writing, on the form provided by the principal, on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Follow all rules, policies and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- All classified employees assigned to classroom instructors shall be under the direction and supervision by the certified employee in charge in that classroom.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the Principal.
Terms of Service: Salary and workdays to be established by the Board.
