Summary:
The Project Manager supervises construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints. S/he will participate in the bidding of a project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation. S/he will plan, direct, coordinate and budget activities concerned with the construction of the project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage the scheduling of the project; schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines; study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods; evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
· Help determine labor requirements and assist with dispatching workers to construction site; hold contractors and suppliers accountable for their work.
· Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements; obtain executive approval for all expenditures and budgets.
· Develop and review shop drawings.
· Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
· Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
· Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations.
· Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, and cost tracking reports.
· Develop and implement quality control programs.
· Take action to handle the results of delays, bad weather or emergencies at the construction site.
· Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
· Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction site to ensure that proper procedures are being followed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Read and understand plans and specifications.
· Understanding of structural, civil or marine work.
· Field experience and/or bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
· Estimating and buying experience.
· Excellent scheduling, problem resolution and communication skills.
· Demonstrated good judgment in recommendations and decisions in formulating and executing project strategy.
· Extensive knowledge of and experience in the civil construction field, equipment, and job management.
· Understanding of OSHA regulations pertaining to construction.
· Excellent scheduling, problem resolution, communication, and leadership skills.
· Strong analytical skills: very detail oriented, organized, and able to supervise the work of others.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word and Excel.
· Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Company standards.

The employee is occasionally required to reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Physical dexterity may involve stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions. The employee must be able to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities occurring at the site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
