A global manufacturer in the plate heat exchanger industry is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to manage and oversee its shipping operations. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized individual with a solid understanding of shipping processes, including international transportation. Location : Houston, TX 77041
Type of Position : Temp-to-Hire
Hours : Monday – Friday 6 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm
Responsibilities :
Coordinate Shipments : Responsible for contacting shipping agencies, transport companies, and customers to negotiate delivery prices and schedule transportation requirements efficiently.
Compute Logistics Details : Accurately compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise that is exported / imported to / from foreign destinations.
Manage Hazardous Goods Shipments : Complete shipments of hazardous goods, ensuring compliance with local and federal requirements. This includes maintaining all necessary documentation in line with our company's retention periods.
Requirements :
Experience in logistics is essential
Should have a solid understanding of shipping processes, including international transportation
Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with local and federal regulations regarding the transportation of goods, especially hazardous materials
Analytical Skills : Proficiency in computing various logistics metrics such as duties, tariffs, and conversion rates
Adaptability : Willingness to learn and be cross-trained in different aspects of the position
