A fast-growing plastic pipe manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee and optimize the performance of manufacturing equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate is a skilled leader with strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance. Working cross-functionally, the new leader will drive operational efficiency by managing maintenance staff, reducing machine downtime, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and supporting continuous process improvements.

Location: Channelview, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Manage & develop maintenance staff effectively, optimize usage of employees within the department, conduct annual performance reviews, and prepare personal growth plans for all employees within the department.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position both mechanically and electrically.
- Oversee and prioritize plant priorities pertaining to breakdowns, projects, & PM schedules of all employees.
- Direct the activity of the Maintenance team to ensure proper and timely repairs and execution of projects.
- Establish work measurement techniques, determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize the maintenance management plan in accordance with its goals to improve uptime and minimize costs.
- Manage weekend on call program of maintenance employees to ensure plant production downtime is maintained to a minimum.
- Work with Engineering on special projects or new equipment purchases.
- Communicate with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production efficiencies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Technical degree in a related field
- 7 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening required
- A deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other maintenance knowledge
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot and identify problems, whether mechanical or electrical
- Team leadership skills, ability to motivate a team of technicians, contractors and other maintenance personnel
- Ability to delegate and assign tasks based on the skills and strengths of personnel ensuring work is done timely
- Creating and maintaining schedules for regular inspections and servicing to prevent unexpected breakdowns
