TA III – SPANISH REFUGEE LIAISON

Job Description:

Refugee Liaison between teachers, parents, students, support staff and the community
regarding educational programs, services and student issues in areas such as attendance,
academics, behavior and health; provide related outreach, support and guidance services.
Work with students in small groups or individuals to acquire English language skills. Provide
an appropriate communication link between schools and families of English language
learners; participate in district and state training and perform related duties as required by
supervisor.

Minimum Requirements: Ability to read, write and comprehend in English and to effectively present information in
both one-on-one and small group settings; good problem-solving and decision-making skills;
ability to operate a computer and related software; ability to develop effective working
relationships with students, staff and the school community, including parents; ability to
work independently and show initiative. One year prior experience teaching small groups in
a school environment such as Title 1, Reading, ESL, etc. is preferred.

Job Specificatons: 28 hours per week during school hours (retirement benefits)
Must be fluent in speaking and writing Spanish. Preference given to native speakers

Salary:

Pay Grade: 8
Current Employees: $19.10 to $27.55 based on years with the district
New-to-the-District: $19.10 to $21.82 based on experience and/or education
