Summary Of Job Duties And Responsibilities
Teach classes in Equine Science program, including but not limited to lecture and riding classes; advise students; coach IHSA teams, both in practices and at competitions.
Teach classes in Equine Science program, including but not limited to lecture and riding classes; advise students; coach IHSA teams, both in practices and at competitions.
- Teach approximately two undergraduate courses per semester in Equine Science program, including (but not limited to) horsemanship, equine, or animal science classes and laboratories. Teaching assignments will be based on the specific strengths of the successful candidate and the curricular needs of the Hutson School of Agriculture, and will include course revision and development responsibilities.
- Serve as the coach for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association ( IHSA ) Hunt Team, including handling administration details for team, oversight of weekly practices (often at night), and traveling with team to IHSA shows
- Serve as an academic as well as student club advisor, and be involved in student recruitment efforts. Work closely with farm managers and other faculty, and develop a working relationship with industries relevant to the equine programs.
- Participate in professional development activities and service/leadership to the school, university, industry, and state, regional, and national professional organizations.
- Other duties as assigned.
