The Network Engineer ensures the University’s voice, video, and data network provides consistent, reliable service to students, faculty, staff and guests.
The Network Engineer ensures the University’s voice, video, and data network provides consistent, reliable service to students, faculty, staff and guests.
- Implement, install, maintain, and support the University’s wired and wireless voice, video, and data network infrastructure.
- Assist with creating the architectural structure and design of the University’s wired and wireless voice, video, and data network infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys and make corresponding recommendations and changes based on survey results.
- Use a variety of RF test tools and techniques to monitor network performance and security.
- Install and configure data and voice network infrastructure hardware and software.
- Undertake routine preventative measures to ensure consistent, reliable, secure network and VoIP service.
- Remain current with new developments related to VoIP, video, and data network infrastructure.
- Works closely with other departments/organizations and collaborates with other IT staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
