Job Description Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) reports to the Sports Medicine Manager. The AT will be assigned to a high school and provide community-based point of service for sports related prevention, care, coverage and rehabilitation, referral and marketing for musculoskeletal injuries and sports related ailments within a defined environment for athletes; school aged, adolescent, early adult, middle adult and late adult. Under the general supervision of the physician, physical therapist, physician assistant and or nurse practitioner.

Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events.

Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred). Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers(BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC. Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
