Job Description Summary
MUSC Children’s Health Daniel Island Clinic is a small Pediatric clinic, one provider, located by the waterfront on Daniel Island. We have one MOA, two Care Team Member (CTM) and one pediatrician for 3.5 days and another for 1.5 days a week. Our services include visits for sick and well visits, vaccines, some point of care and lab testing, blood draws, referral services, medication management, sports/school physicals, to mention a few. We are open from 8am-5pm M-F- no weekends and no holidays.
The Patient Care Tech reports to the Manager. The PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a patient-centered approach from administrative to clinical tasks within the scope of a PCT to achieve desired outcomes.

Job Description
Greets and welcomes patients and families in person or on the telephone. Optimizes the patients’ experience and clinic efficiency time by scheduling appointments appropriately, either by phone or in person. Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information accurately and effectively. Collects Co-pays and prior patient balances. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Position also involves customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and referrals management. Perform and assist the registered nurse with clinical tasks within the scope of a PCT. Ability to interact with medical professionals and other care team members from diverse cultures and background.

Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs ( /-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.

Requirements Include One Of The Following
- High school diploma or GED required with a minimum of one year of patient care work experience in a health care facility, at the time of hire.
- Certified Nursing Assistant.
- High school diploma or GED required and required enrollment in a healthcare related program within two years of hire.
- High school diploma or GED required and a current MUHA or MUSCP Care Team Member.
- Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution or equivalent training.
- EMT or Paramedic certification.
- Nursing student enrolled in an accredited institution with the completion of nursing fundamentals course.
- Bachelor’s degree.
