- Ambulatory Budget Development:
- Assist in preparing the annual ambulatory budget, collaborating with department heads and finance teams.
- Ensure alignment with financial goals for both operational expenses and revenue.
- Gather data from clinical and administrative departments to create accurate budget templates.
- Work with leadership to set realistic budget targets based on strategic goals.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor ambulatory service expenses and identify trends or variances.
- Conduct ongoing forecasting and provide variance analysis to highlight cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with operational teams for corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including budget-to-actual comparisons.
- Analyze financial drivers such as patient volumes, payer mix, and staffing.
- Provide actionable insights to leaders to improve financial performance.
- Provide support for special projects, such as new services or facility expansions.
- Assist in financial modeling to assess the impact of new initiatives on the budget.
- Collaboration with Operational Teams:
- Work with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to ensure accurate budgeting.
- Facilitate communication across departments to align financial goals and expectations.
- Provide guidance on budgeting best practices to non-financial stakeholders.
- System and Tool Management:
- Utilize financial software (e.g., Axiom, Excel, WorkDay Adaptive: In the implementation phase) for budget tracking.
- Assist in designing, testing, and implementing of financial management technology.
- Ensure financial systems are accurate, timely, and properly maintained for reporting.
- Support the integration of budgeting data with other financial systems.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest process improvements in the budgeting workflow.
- Stay current on healthcare finance trends to ensure the ambulatory budget reflects industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration) with at least 3 years of experience in a complex healthcare organization. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Strong knowledge of healthcare finance and experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial systems (e.g., Axiom, WorkDay Adaptive: In the implementation phase).
- Certifications/Licensure: Not required.

Physical Requirements
