Job Description
Possessing an SPD-Relevant Certification (CRCST or CBSPD) with a minimum 12 months experience, the Sterile Processing Technician III manages the reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, including disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, and sterilization. Cares for and operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and other equipment. Completes quality monitoring and documentaiton. Picks inventory management and clinic instrument rounds. Assits with mentoring, training, coaching, and role modeling for new Sterile Processing Technicians. Serves as a leader within the department who specializes in specific complex area of SPD. Performs all duties with a commitment to excellence in quality and customer service. Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Graduate of high school or GED equivalency examination and must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing as a CRCST - HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) and have at least 12 months experience in sterile processing. Possess ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of processes. Applicant must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure health care environment required. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Detail oriented required. Travel may be required. Holiday work and emergency management/disaster teamwork required.
