Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. The role assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
Description
The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records or inputs information to patients' medical record. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Basic computer skills are required. Annual competencies must be maintained. The role requires the ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures and make accurate physical observations of patients.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing is essential.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
