Overview:
The Emergency Department Technician II supports the delivery of high-quality patient care by performing various tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Perform multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care.
- Assist with vital sign collection, EKGs, and other basic skills under RN supervision.
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements:
A minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in a health care environment or certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required.
Successful completion of on-line course modules, phlebotomy training, and skills validation for basic and advanced skills, as well as EKG training, within six months of hire date is mandatory.
BLS certification with Red Cross or AHA is also required.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, and from elevated areas is necessary.
