Job Description Summary
Performs all required procedures relating to waived, moderate and high complexity laboratory testing on all types of blood and body fluid specimens, as defined by CLIA qualification/ responsibilities for testing under minimal supervision. Performs quality control procedures, instrument function checks, and preventative maintenance as required according to department policies and procedures. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Performs phlebotomy procedures in the absence of the phlebotomist. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care. Performs other related functions as assigned by the laboratory director, manager, and supervisors.Entity

Job Description
Performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Records lab results in specified system. Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.Additional Job Description
Education:
Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience in the medical laboratory. Must meet qualification requirements for testing personnel set forth in Title 42, Sec. 493.1489, CLIA..
Experience:
One-year experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
MLT (ASCP) or eligible for certification (must be obtained within 1 year of hire date).
