Job Title: Registered Nurse II / Relief Staff Leader (RSL)
The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II / Relief Staff Leader to join its team. This role reports to the Nurse Manager and provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective care to patients with various diagnoses, including general medicine services, GI surgery, surgical oncology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, cardiology, CT surgery, hematology/oncology, and other services as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and other ancillary staff, to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide department/shift leadership in RSL role as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, and working from elevated areas.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted and exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
- Good peripheral vision capabilities and ability to maintain hearing acuity.
