Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - School-Based Telepresenter role reports to the Nurse Manager of School-Based Telehealth. This position utilizes telemedicine equipment to present patients to providers at Medical University of South Carolina or in the local community, providing administrative support and serving as a care coordinator for families with high-risk students.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with school nurses to identify students who would benefit from telehealth services.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for safe use.
- Establish connections with remote providers and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Communicate with parents / guardians about telehealth visits and expectations.
- Document patient information and vital signs in electronic medical records.
- Administer medications and complete CLIA waived point-of-care testing as ordered by telemedicine providers.
- Serve as student and family advocate and care coordinator, connecting families to needed resources.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program; licensed LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state; current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required
